A weekend away with the Bombers became a dream come true for the Green family from Warragul, who were drawn as the lucky winners of the 2025 Essendon Major Raffle.
The incredible first prize – a footy-filled experience during the Bombers’ Country Round – saw Stephanie Green, her husband Matt, 10-year-old son Harrison, and Stephanie’s sister Julia (a local potato farmer) embark on a red-and-black adventure they’ll never forget.
The Greens are proudly lifelong Bombers fans, with their support for the club passed down through generations.
Their special weekend began with a warm welcome at the NEC Hangar, followed by a coffee catch-up with club greats Mark Harvey and Dustin Fletcher.
The family attended the Captain’s Run training session, where they were greeted by some of the players who took time to have a chat and sign some of their memorabilia.
Young Harrison’s day was made when his favourite Bomber, Isaac Kako stopped to say hello, took a photo, and even had a kick-to-kick with him.
The experience continued with a behind-the-scenes tour of the NEC Hangar, offering a glimpse into the club’s inner sanctum.
To make the weekend even more special, the family was loaned a Range Rover courtesy of the club’s co-major partner, Dutton One – a huge thank you to their team for the generous support, they also enjoyed two nights’ accommodation thanks to Rydges Melbourne.
Come game day, the Greens were given exclusive access to the change rooms before the match, with Harrison proudly walking out as Essendon’s junior mascot. They helped form the guard of honour and soaked in the match from the President’s Function – a fitting finish to a truly unforgettable weekend.
The club extends its thanks to everyone who entered the 2025 raffle.
