Family fostered a 12-year-old boy that nobody wants – But soon they realized who he really is

There are over 424,000 children in foster care nationwide, according to latest data released by the Children’s Bureau. Less than 8,000 children in Tennessee alone are waiting to be reunited with their family or find a forever home with individuals who would love them without conditions. Less than 4,000 foster families exist in this state, which is a tragic fact.

Until recently, 12-year-old Andrew from Nashville was one of those children who ended up in the system. This sweet youngster moved from family to family for half of his life. That changed, though, after he was accepted by the Gills, a unique foster family.

Joc, the son of Kevin and Dominique Gill, became close friends with Andrew from the first time they met. The lads simply adore spending time together. They play games, go for walks, and engage in other enjoyable activities. Kevin and Dominique decided to file for adoption after realizing how close the boys had become and wanted to keep them as best friends forever.

Andrew was unaware that he would soon be formally admitted into the Gill family. He learned that his foster parents were adopting him one day while he was out in the park with Youth Villages volunteer Molly Parker.

“Everyone was there when I turned the corner,” Andrew remarked. “When they asked, ‘will you?’ I replied, ‘yes!’”These boys were no longer just close friends; they were now brothers. That is the most exquisite thing ever, isn’t it?
