The Post obtained a police report claiming that Barrios approached Digiovanni and her friends, becoming ‘angry’ as he believed they were mocking him and his clothing.
The report states he began ‘stabbing’ Digiovanni ‘in the chest’ and subsequently attacked the other women as they fled.
Barrios allegedly told police he then searched for other people ‘to let his anger out,’ leading to the fatal stabbing of Brent Hallet.
The report further notes: “Barrios stated he was hoping officers would shoot him.”
Police later acquired surveillance footage from Wynn Casino, depicting the brutal details of the assault.
The footage shows a man departing Wynn Casino at approximately 11:39am, approaching the showgirls, and attacking Digiovanni at 11:41am, as reported by 3News.
Anna Westby, another showgirl attacked on the Las Vegas Strip, recounted to ABC13 KTNV: “He went into his bag, pulled out a cloth, and then unfolded that cloth… and it was a knife.
“He grabbed the knife […] and stabbed Maris in the heart. Then Victoria ran and he chased [her] and stabbed her in the back.”
Westby was also attacked as she tried to escape.
Barrios reportedly confirmed to police the knife shown in an image from the scene was the one used in the attack.
Barrios has since been charged with 15 felony counts, including an act of terrorism, according to 3News.
On January 8, the Clark County District Attorney’s Office filed a notice to pursue capital punishment if Barrios is convicted.
Barrios’ arraignment hearing is reportedly scheduled for January 9.
