‘World-Class’ Star Keen to Join Man Utd in January, INEOS Confident of Deal

Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo is keen to join Manchester United in January amid strong interest from Premier League clubs, journalist Miguel Delaney has reported.

The 25-year-old Ghana international is expected to depart the Vitality Stadium at the turn of the year and is being targeted by a host of clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.

Semenyo has a £65m release clause in his contract that is active from 1 January and gives clubs the opportunity to bypass negotiations with Bournemouth for the forward.

United reportedly feel they have a strong chance of landing Semenyo next year and would be willing to move for the 25-year-old if rival clubs step up their interest in January.

According to Delaney, while United are preparing for another high-spending summer, they would be willing to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad in January if the situation requires.

The Red Devils spent almost £200m on new forwards during the previous transfer window, welcoming Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.

Amorim and United chiefs are said to be admirers of Semenyo’s tactical versatility and have a vision of playing him as an attacking wing-back, similar to Amad Diallo.

Semenyo is said to be open to a move to Old Trafford amid his impressive season on the Dorset coast.

The ‘world-class’ Ghanaian forward has been Bournemouth’s main source of goals this campaign, scoring seven and providing three assists in 15 appearances.

He scored against Man United in the 4-4 draw at Old Trafford on Monday evening, ending his seven-game run without a goal or an assist in the Premier League.

Semenyo’s departure would represent another high-profile sale for Bournemouth in the last six months, with defenders Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez leaving for a combined £147m this summer.

Midfielder Remains Priority for Amorim

Amid their emerging interest in Semenyo, United’s priority for next year remains signing at least one new midfielder.

The Old Trafford side have been heavily reliant on the 31-year-old Bruno Fernandes and the 33-year-old Casemiro this season and are looking to bring in fresh talent to add more intensity and dynamism to Amorim’s squad.

Both Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson remain top targets ahead of January, while Atletico Madrid ace Conor Gallagher could emerge as a low-cost option, as GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano revealed previously.
