This season’s inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup will take place in London from January 28 to February 1.
Our involvement in the competition was confirmed after we won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in May, which will also feature the champions from the other five continental confederations – similar to the previous version of the men’s Club World Cup before this summer’s new-look tournament.
Before the London-based matches, Wuhan Jiangda of the AFC will tackle the OFC’s Auckland United in round one, with the winner of that game then playing an African opponent representing CAF representative.
That game’s winners will then play us in the semi-finals when the tournament moves to London in January, , while the CONMEBOL representative from South America will play US-based side Gotham FC in the other semi-final.
The final will take place on February 1, while there will also be a third-place play-off, meaning we’re guaranteed two matches at the competition in the new year.
Full fixture detail and the venues used are yet to be confirmed.
