Footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez have confirmed that they have got engaged with a post on social media – and a gemologist has told the Daily Mail what the Portugal talisman forked out for the ring.

Taking to Instagram, Rodriguez flaunted the huge rock on her finger with the caption: “Yes, I do. “Features an oval diamond estimated to be over 10 carats, possibly as large as 15 carats,” she told the Daily Mail. “It appears to be flanked by two smaller oval diamond side stones, each approximately 2-3 carats. The setting is platinum with double claw prongs on all four corners. Depending on the quality, the ring and center diamond are likely worth several million dollars.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez, after spending years of their lives dotting around Europe, now reside in Saudi Arabia after Ronaldo – widely regarded as one of the best footballers of all time – extended his stay at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr earlier in the summer.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez’s internet-shattering news comes just a few months after the former revealed why he had, at that point, not asked his soon-to-be-wife to marry him. During an interview during her Netflix show, ‘I am Georgina’, she said that her friends had begun teasing her:
“They’re always joking about the wedding. ‘When is the wedding?’. Since Jennifer Lopez’s song “The Ring Or When” came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me.” Ronaldo replied: “I always tell her, ‘When we get that click.’ Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m taling about. It could be a in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1000% sure that it’ll happen.”
