Wrexham Thrive: AI Predicts Final 2025/26 Championship Table in Full

Summary

  • AI has predicted the 2025/26 Championship season in full.
  • Midtable standings feature Stoke City and West Brom holding steady.
  • AI predicts Wrexham and Birmingham City for another wild ride in the 2025/26 season.

Often regarded as one of the most competitive leagues in the world, the Championship delivers high-intensity drama season after season, with clubs constantly battling either for promotion or to avoid the drop. One moment a team might be chasing the top six, and the next, they’re staring down relegation – such is the unforgiving nature of the division.

So, rather than doing the usual umming and ahhing over next season’s table, we’ve handed the task over to AI – and, as expected, the results make for a fascinating read from top to bottom.

The Premier League table could look very different in some key areas this time next year.

Relegation Places

Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford United & Preston North End go down

Elsewhere, Watford’s high managerial turnover and limited transfer budget are expected to finally catch up with them. They narrowly miss out on relegation still, finishing 21st. Preston North End – one of football’s 12 founding members – are tipped to finish just below them in 22nd and be the best of a bad bunch. Sheffield Wednesday, another fallen giant and among the biggest clubs in Britain, are predicted to finish rock bottom with just 38 points.

Just 10 points separate the final relegation place and 17th, however, meaning the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Millwall, and Charlton Athletic – newly promoted by the guidance of Nathan Jones – aren’t safe from the anxiety of a relegation scrap. All three will need to battle hard to avoid being dragged down into League One.

Relegation places
Position Club Points
17. Charlton Athletic 54
18. Queen’s Park Rangers 52
19. Millwall 50
20. Blackburn Rovers 48
21. Watford 46

23. Oxford United 42
24. Sheffield Wednesday 38

Midtable Places

Stoke City & West Brom feature

Stoke City

Bristol City, having dramatically finished inside the playoff places in the 2024/25 campaign, might have hoped to push on. However, a hangover from that success could see them settle for a humbling 12th-place finish. Meanwhile, AI has forecasted that Norwich City – who gained a reputation as the ultimate Premier League yo-yo club in the 2010s – will land in 11th under journeyman boss Liam Manning, who has jumped ship four times in four years.

Midtable places
Position Club Points
9. West Brom 68
10. Hull City 66
11. Norwich City 65
12. Bristol City 64
13. Swansea City 62
14. Stoke City 60
15. Derby County 58
16. Portsmouth 56

Promotion & Playoff Places

Wrexham & Birmingham City set for hollywood seasons (again)

Every season, the two sides that finish at the top of the Championship standings are automatically promoted to the Premier League. Last season, it was Leeds and Burnley. According to AI, Will Still-led Southampton will bounce straight back up as champions and be joined by Marti Cifuentes’ Leicester City. Rounding out the top three – but missing out on automatic promotion by a fairly sizeable five points – are the third relegated side, Ipswich Town.

Coventry City are always in and around the promotion conversation and are expected to finish sixth next season under Frank Lampard. However, it’s the two clubs they’re sandwiched between that are likely to draw the most attention.
