Sir Alex Ferguson Gatecrashes Rio Ferdinand’s Podcast in Brilliant Clip

He may have retired from management 12 years ago, but Sir Alex Ferguson proved yet again why he remains the boss to many of his former Manchester United players after hilarious footage of him gatecrashing Rio Ferdinand’s podcast was released. Ferguson was one of the most intimidating and feared managers during his pomp, with his infamous hairdryer treatment used more as a deterrent than anything else to prevent players from attempting to cross him.

The Scot commanded respect in the Old Trafford dressing room, with some of the game’s biggest superstars even bowing their heads to him. And it seems as though he still garners such respect too, as showcased by the way Ferdinand reacted to his now viral, untimely interruption.

Ferdinand’s Podcast Interrupted by Fergie

Ferguson also had a brutal put-down that left Ferdinand speechless

In the latest edition of ‘Rio Meets’, the ex-England international linked up with former teammate Michael Carrick to sit down and discuss a range of topics, varying from being left out of teams to his spell coaching at United. However, their discussion was rather rudely interrupted by Alex Ferguson, who entered the scene in footage that was clipped and posted onto social media by Ferdinand.

A hilarious exchange commenced between the three men, with Ferguson asking his former players, “What’s this?” He then followed it up by saying: “I’m not doing this podcast.” Both Carrick and Ferdinand then told the 83-year-old that the podcast wasn’t for him and told him to get a coffee and that they would go for food after they had finished.

Sir Alex would then say while walking off screen: “I just want to listen to the nonsense you talk.”As if that wasn’t funny enough, five minutes later, as the former United stars discussed how Carrick handled not being picked to play, Sir Alex’s phone rang and the iconic ‘gaffer’ audibly answered during the middle of the recording.

With a smirk of disbelief on his face, Ferdinand asked: “That’s not the gaffer’s phone?” When Carrick asked if they needed to restart the conversation, the former TNT Sport pundit refused, adding: “Go on, it’s fine… it’s the gaffer, we’ve just got to get on with it.”
